A PITCHER OF CZECH AND GERMAN SHORTS
Prague
This autumn, iShorts will offer a programme of Czech and German short films. It will present the animated erotic fantasy Tram; a story about an autistic girl with an IQ of zero, Veronica; and a dreamlike animated story, Mr. Nightmare and the Blessings of Progress. What films are shot here and what kinds of films are filmed by our nearest Western neighbours? Come see for yourself. Czech and German filmmakers will present their films in person and take part in discussions with the audience after the screenings.

It has almost vanished from our urban horizons, that rotting dinosaur, the German post office's yellow telephone booth. There were times when the booth was a vital place. The film searched for – and found – one of the last of this dying breed, and had them divulge stories now threatened by oblivion.

Pit-Hole dpicts the life of a Ukraininan family that refueses a contemporary lifestyle. Nataliya, the head of the family, is trying to preserve the family house, now surrounded by a modern housing estate. The film focuses on the family and the difficult living conditions caused by a Kiev constuction project.
